Formal Recruitment at Baker University is a week-long mutual selection process, during which potential new members (PNMs) will meet members of all three Panhellenic chapters at Baker University. PNMs will have the opportunity to participate in chapter philanthropy projects, tour chapter houses, and see the values and traditions that each chapter holds.

Alpha Chi Omega's National Membership Standards are:

  • Academic Interest
  • Character
  • Financial Responsibility
  • Leadership Ability
  • Personal Development

Frequently Asked Recruitment Questions

Q: One of the biggest questions potential new members have during recruitment is, "What should I wear?"

A: The members of Omicron want you to know that it's what on the inside that matters to us. We hope to get to know each potential new sister during recruitment. However, Baker University does have a style guide that you can follow during recruitment.

Note: If you have any questions about formal recruitment attire, feel free to e-mail Jen Letner (see below), Director of Greek Life, and she'll put you in touch with a Recruitment Counselor

Q: Is a reference required to participate in recruitment?

A: A reference is not required by Baker University's Panhellenic Council to participate in recruitment, but it is encouraged and can only help the chapter get to know a prospective member better. If you would like to obtain a reference on your own, any alumna or active member may write a reference.
